Abstract

This study aims to describe the types of errors in official letter writing at the Darul Imarah District Head's Office in 2025. This study used a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The research data consisted of official letters issued between July and December 2025 and collected through documentation techniques. The data were analyzed by identifying and classifying errors based on standard Indonesian language rules. The results showed that writing errors occurred in the letterhead, subject line, letter address, letter number, letter content, letter closing, and attachments. Errors found included capitalization, spelling, punctuation, standard words, and inaccuracies in writing elements of official letters. The most common errors were in the letter content and letter address. This study indicates that official letter writing at the Darul Imarah District Head's Office still needs improvement to comply with Indonesian language rules and applicable official scripts.
