Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes on zakat fitrah and mal material through the application of direct instruction in class IX.3 SMP Negeri 1 Blangkejeren for the 2020/2021 school year. This research was conducted at the researcher's place of duty, namely at SMP Negeri 1 Blangkejeren in the even semester of the 2020/2021 academic year which was carried out for approximately 3 months starting from January to March in 2021. The subjects of this study were class IX.3 students of SMP Negeri 1 Blangkejeren with a total of 25 students in the 2020/2021 academic year. This research was a classroom action research for two cycles, each cycle consisting of planning, action, observation and reflection stages. Data collection techniques in this study are cycle tests, teacher activity observations and student activity observations. Data analysis techniques in this study were analyzed descriptively qualitatively. The results showed that in the first cycle the percentage of student learning outcomes was 72% and the second cycle increased to 96%, an increase of 24% when compared to the first cycle. The activities of teachers and students in learning also increased. In the first cycle, the teacher's teaching activity was 3.5 in the good category, while in the second cycle it increased to 4.8% in the very good category and increased by 1.3. The percentage of student activity in learning activities in the first cycle of 67.75% is in the good category. While in the second cycle the percentage obtained increased to 90% and was in the very good category. And increased by 18.7%. So it can be concluded that through the application of direct instruction models can improve student learning outcomes for zakat fitrah and mal material in class IX.3 SMP Negeri 1 Blangkejeren for the 2020/2021 school year.
