Abstract

The digital era has brought about a fundamental transformation in the practice of journalism education, reshaping the ways in which news is produced, distributed, and consumed. This study examines the challenges faced by journalists, the strategies of adaptation adopted, and the innovations emerging within digital news production. Using a qualitative approach, combining literature review and case studies, the research reveals that digitalisation introduces new challenges, such as competition from citizen journalism, the pressure of accelerated publication, and the growing threat of disinformation. Nevertheless, the digital era also presents opportunities for innovation through the use of artificial intelligence technologies, interactive multimedia, and new distribution platforms. Media organisations have responded with various adaptations, including the transformation of business models, the enhancement of journalists’ digital skills, and the implementation of multi-platform strategies. This study contributes to a comprehensive understanding of the evolution of contemporary journalism and offers strategic recommendations for media practitioners in navigating the dynamics of the digital era.
