UPAYA MENINGKATKAN AKTIVITAS DAN PRESTASI SISWA PADA MATERI KEGIATAN EKONOMI MELALUI PENDEKATAN SCIENTIFIK KELAS VII-1 MTsN RUKOH BANDA ACEH

Abstract

The objectives of this research are: (1) To determine student activities in learning through a scientific approach. (2) To determine the improvement of students' academic achievement by using a scientific approach in social studies (IPS) on the topic of economic activities for class VII-1 at MTsN Rukoh Banda Aceh.. This classroom action research was conducted in class VII-1 at MTsN Rukoh Banda Aceh with a total of 32 students. The conclusions that can be drawn from this study are as follows: (1) Student activities increased, with the average activity score rising from 61.33 in the first cycle to 91.25 in the second cycle. (2) Student academic achievement improved in each cycle, with the average score in the first cycle being 76.25% and rising to 88.12% in the second cycle. Thus, student activities and learning outcomes through the use of a scientific approach, both individually and collectively, can be considered satisfactory, indicating that the cooperative learning model with a scientific approach can help students learn actively. Students' learning outcomes with a scientific approach showed improvement, and their responses to the learning process through a scientific approach were very positive.
