Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of interactive learning models on the literacy skills of fourth-grade students of SD Negeri 62 Banda Aceh. The research method used is quantitative with a quasi-experimental approach and a pretest-posttest control group design. The research sample consisted of 33 students of class IV-A as the experimental class and 30 students of class IV-B as the control class. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation and literacy tests consisting of pretest and posttest. The results showed that the literacy skills of students in the experimental class increased significantly compared to the control class. The percentage of students with the category "Moderate to Very High" in the experimental class reached 93.93%, while in the control class it was only 76.66%. Hypothesis testing with the Independent Samples Test showed a significance value of less than 0.05 so that there was a significant difference between the posttest results of the two groups. These findings prove that the application of interactive learning models has an effect on improving the literacy skills of fourth-grade students of SD Negeri 62 Banda Aceh. Thus, this model can be used as an alternative in improving the quality of learning in elementary schools.
