Abstract

This research aims to determine the role of teachers in the formation of students' morals in the independent learning curriculum at SD Negeri Kulu, Lhoong District, Aceh Besar. This program looks directly at the role of teachers in the moral formation of students. So there needs to be better student morale so that the teaching and learning process can run well. This research uses qualitative methods with descriptive research type. The subjects in this research were 1 class 3 teacher and 6 class 3 students. Data collection techniques were carried out by carrying out documentation, observation and interviews. Data analysis techniques were carried out qualitatively and described in descriptive form. The research results show that teachers have an important role in changing students' morals in the school environment. Apart from that, the teacher's role in student morale is by giving the task to students to always practice good deeds, for example religious attitudes, honesty and tolerance. From the results of the interview, it was found that teachers always guide, develop and encourage students in learning and familiarize students with remembering their responsibilities, advise students when they make mistakes, and instill the values ​​of honesty and discipline in students. The results of this research generally show that teachers have an important role in forming students' morals by trying to instill a rule-abiding attitude in students, then in this case students directly apply it in everyday life, such as throwing rubbish in its place, both in grade 3 and all classes in Kulu State Elementary School, Lhoong sub-district, Aceh Besar.
