Penggunaan LKPD dan PhET Simulation pada Model Discovery Learning terhadap Kemampuan Penalaran Matematis berdasarkan Motivasi Belajar Siswa

Abstract
This study aims to examine the effectiveness of using LKPD and PhET Simulations in the discovery learning model on mathematical reasoning skills based on student learning motivation. The method used is mixed methods with sequential explanatory design. Quantitative data were collected through true experimental design with posttest-only control group design, using mathematical reasoning ability test. The study population included all seventh grade students at SMP Negeri 11 Semarang, with a sample of two classes, namely VII F as an experimental class using discovery learning assisted by LKPD and PhET Simulations, and VII E as a control class with an expository model. Interviews were conducted with six students from the experimental class who were selected based on the category of learning motivation questionnaire results. The analysis results showed that: (1) the mathematical reasoning ability test in the experimental class achieved classical completeness, (2) the average mathematical reasoning ability of students in the experimental class was higher than the control class, and (3) the proportion of students who were complete in the experimental class was greater than the control class. Thus, the use of LKPD and PhET Simulations in the discovery learning model proved effective on students' mathematical reasoning ability.
