Abstract

The purpose of this article is to evaluate the voltage value on each 20 KV distribution network when loading the distribution substation under peak load conditions. The distribution system is a component in the electric power system which functions as the distribution of electrical energy from the electricity source (Bulk Power Source) to the load (consumer), so the distribution system is the electric power sub-system closest to the load side (consumer), needs power to consumers is served through a distribution network. Distribution of electric power through radial type distribution is carried out for loads that are spread far from the power source. The location of the load at a distance will result in a voltage drop appearing on the line, so that the voltage at the receiving end will decrease. The voltage of each bus can be determined by computing the power flow. The results of the power flow calculation are useful for evaluating the performance of the electric power system and  knowing the generation system and its loading. The power flow simulation was carried out using the ETAP programming language version 12.6 with the research object of the IEEE radial type distribution network 9 bus system. The research results show that the power from the reference bus (swing bus) for load requirements is 12,955 MW and 5,234 MVAR with total losses occurring on the line are 1045.1 KW and 1362.5 KVAR. The voltage on the bus at the end of the line, namely bus 9, is 15.78 KV, after adding a new feeder, the voltage on the bus increases to 19.64 KV.
