Abstract

This study examines the influence of social media on the dissemination of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) ideals among Generation Z, a group that grew up in the digital era with wide access to technology. Generation Z, who are familiar with technology-based education, have significant potential to acquire and disseminate religious knowledge through social media. The main problem faced is the large amount of inaccurate and irrelevant materials disseminated on this digital platform. This study underlines the importance of digital literacy as an important element in filtering and using social media for Islamic religious teaching. Social media, the main communication medium for Generation Z, can serve as an effective instrument for disseminating Islamic ideals, including ethics, justice, and social responsibility. A methodical and wise strategy is essential for using social media in PAI teaching to maximally fulfill the goals of religious education. The results of this study indicate that strategic use of social media can improve understanding of Islamic teachings and foster moral and spiritual qualities in Generation Z. Therefore, it is important for educators and stakeholders to use social media constructively and wisely in order to foster a generation that has academic intelligence as well as strong moral integrity.
