Inner Conflict of Characters in The Novel “Santri Pilihan Bunda” by Salsyabila Falensia

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the forms of inner conflicts of the characters in the novel “Santri Pilihan Bunda” by Salsyabila Falensia. The method used was a qualitative research method, with data taken from this novel. The data collection technique used reading and note-taking techniques. The data analysis involved data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Based on the analysis of the novel, the results showed that there were nine characters who experienced inner conflicts, namely Aliza Shaqueena Iqala, Kinaan Ozama Elfatih (Angkasa Armaghan), Zero, Rana, Zena, Kanaya, Mrs. Mira, Lintang and Mawar. The forms of inner conflicts experienced by the characters in the novel were divided into twelve forms: anxiety, frustration, guilt, anger, shame, sadness, fear, distress, disappointment, hurt, depression, and regret.
